One was a ATI Radeon X1950XTX AGP Card, then second is a Radeon X2600 HD AGP Card, the latter being a DirectX 10 Card. Acceleration: Enabled AGP Texture Acceleration: Not Available This means Aero is disabled, but more importantly I can't run any games, as an error something like No 3D Device Available appears.

It's the technology that's at stake not ATI's card. Indeed ATI's TV (actually composite video) is the same as must cheaper scan rate converters but, hey... a professional scanrate converted costs about 500UKP which is the same as what I paid for my Radeon 64MB vivo (which also functions as a terific 3D games card).

It's okay until you run 3D games (Wolfenstien, Alien V Predator,etc) when occasionally it just locks up and you have to hit the power switch (Ctrl-Alt-Delete I have also seen many problems reported on the forums for other brands of graphics cards (including ATI), so this is not graphics card specific issue.
